Calibration syringes are designed specifically to simplify spirometer test procedures. Spirometers are devices used to measure the lung capacity of patients so are therefore a key device in the diagnosis and monitoring of conditions such as Asthma, COPD, Cystic Fibrosis and Pulmonary Fibrosis. Each syringe holds an exact amount of air, which can be passed through a spirometer to simulate a patient's lung and ensure the spirometer device is measuring correctly.
Spirometers are notorious for not drifting much over the course of their useful life, however, to strictly conform to test standards from the ERS (European Respiratory Society) the recommendation is that a volume accuracy check is performed every day using a 3 Litre calibration syringes. These calibration syringes also need to be checked on annual basis to ensure they themselves are still holding the required 3 litres of air.
Calibrationhouse is a leading supplier to NHS EBME and private healthcare providers, many of which use our services to calibrate their full stockpile of test equipment. The knowledge acquired in flow measurement when testing ventilator test units such as the Rigel Ventest 800 Series has allowed us to develop a comprehensive syringe calibration service. Calibration of syringes is available almost exclusively at our laboratory in County Durham, with onsite calibration available on request.
3 Litre syringe calibration is provided with traceable to national standards calibration on all makes and values of calibration syringe.
Our team of expert technicians are on hand to help you with any queries you have about calibration, servicing or repair.
