Electrocardiogram (ECG) simulator calibration services are available either onsite at a customer’s premises, or via our Durham based laboratory. UKAS and traceable standard of calibration is available on all makes and models of unit to ensure the highest level of accuracy is provided when testing these instruments.
Electrocardiogram (ECG) are tests used by clinicians to check the electrical activity and rhythm of the human heart. Sensors attached to the body are used to monitor electrical signals produced by the heart each time it beats, these signals are then transmitted and represented in graphical format on an ECG monitor.
EBME engineers use ECG simulators to verify the accuracy of ECG monitors by simulating the rhythm of the human heart, so it is important these simulators are calibrated regularly. Calibration involves checking the ECG simulator against a standard of higher accuracy, these measurements are UKAS accredited and available to view on our UKAS Schedule.
Performance accuracy of ECG monitors is of paramount importance to clinicians so they can make important real time, short term and long-term decisions around patient care. Biomedical engineers therefore check these devices regularly with an ECG simulator, or multiparameter patient simulators with ECG functionality. In order to ensure performance and measurement accuracy across both of these devices ECG simulator calibration is a key part of the chain.
Calibrationhouse offers a broad ranging ECG simulator calibration service, all staff are fully trained, and our rigorous test procedures have been developed along with Seaward Group brand partner Rigel Medical who are a world-renowned manufacturer of patient simulators with ECG test functionality. ECG simulator calibration benefits from both onsite calibration and our rapid turnaround laboratory service.
The Calibrationhouse team recommends that all ECG simulators or Patient Simulators with ECG functionality are calibrated at least once a year. The team keep a record of calibration dates in order to provide annual reminders for following year’s calibrations. Electronic UKAS certificates are provided as standard.
Calibrationhouse is a leading supplier to the NHS, private healthcare and medical device manufacturer sectors and recognises the need for these devices to perform to their maximum across their useful life.
Our team of expert technicians are on hand to help you with any queries you have about calibration, servicing or repair.
