A bench scale is a sturdy, but sometimes portable device typically used for weighing small to medium sized items, or items that would usually fit comfortably on a bench (hence the name). Bench scales can be used to measure weights up to around 250-300kg with some specifications offering accuracies as small as 0.005g, so whilst not as precise as some instruments used in the pharmaceutical sector, they still offer a great deal of accuracy when it comes to checking the weight of items.
Bench scales are largely seen as run of the mill everyday instruments, but their accuracy like any other instrument can drift over time. It is important that regular calibration is part of any planned preventative maintenance schedule to ensure equipment performs reliably every time. Calibration of scales is a relatively straight forward procedure, but Calibrationhouse ensures the service is done correctly and with the best test weight standards suited to the job.
Our bench scale calibration services is only offered onsite at customers premises as scales should always be calibrated in situ where they are used on a day-to-day basis. UKAS calibration is available at certain parameters, please contact us or view our UKAS Schedule of Accreditation for more information
