Floor scale is quite a generic term, but essentially these units cover a broad spectrum of general industrial weighing requirements. Therefore, these instruments are sometimes known as industrial scales and designed to be strong, reliable, and accurate so they can operate in harsh environments like logistics warehouses or cargo shipping terminals. Leading providers such as Avery Weigh-Tronix provide units with a capacity up to 12000kg and 2 square metres, so these instruments can be used to weigh a vast array of different item weights and sizes.
Calibration of floor scales is performed like any other scale calibration with the use of highly accurate test weight standards, it must also be done in-situ where they are regularly used. Some providers may even use a specialist load cell for scales with larger weighing capabilities where the logistics and time involved in calibrating such devices is not really feasible using test weights.
Calibrationhouse specialises mainly in high accuracy low weight calibration of scales and weighing equipment, but we do have the capability to test floor scales up to around 150kg. Please contact us to discuss your scale calibration requirements in more detail.
Our team of expert technicians are on hand to help you with any queries you have about calibration, servicing or repair.
