Tyre Pressure Gauge Calibration

Flexible tyre pressure gauge calibration services

Most savvy motorists will check tyre pressures regularly as it helps to save fuel and money along with potentially lowering the risk of hazardous punctures or blowouts. Tyre pressure checks are done by using a device often referred to as a tyre inflator, this instrument includes a gauge and pump (either automatic or manually operated) to inflate or deflate tyres according to the readings provided by the gauge. These tools are not used exclusively by motorists, they are a standard piece of equipment found in most garages, haulage companies and bus depots to accurately measure and adjust tyre pressures.

Modern motoring and operation of fleet vehicles is expensive, and cost saving is often at the top of the agenda with most businesses. Using a top-quality pressure gauge allows significant savings to be made, because making sure tyres are correctly inflated means you can get more miles per gallon and ensure they last longer. Correct tyre pressures also optimise performance of vehicles in terms of braking and handling.

Like all measurement devices, tyre pressure gauges can drift over time. It is stipulated by most car manufacturers that service centres need to have their test equipment calibrated at regular intervals (some even specify every 6 months as opposed to 12 months). Test equipment within these centres generally include torque wrenches, tyre pressure gauges and belt tension gauges.

Calibrationhouse offers a tyre pressure gauge calibration service both onsite at customers premises and within its County Durham based laboratory. Our service can verify pressures of up to 30Bar/435psi, which ensures all vehicles are covered by our standards and knowhow.
